Enoch Turner Schoolhouse Wedding/ Kaitlyn + John
Kaitlyn and John are such a spiritual couple and their wedding day reflected that. The whole day was so connected, the emotions so real and raw. I loved that they did what felt most true to them and had two ceremonies. From the very start of the day to the last people dancing, the whole day felt super authentic and beautiful to witness. Kaitlyn had the idea to have a forest goddess-inspired wedding and it worked out so beautifully. They were both completely present while spending time with their friends and family.
The guys started the day at a barbershop, really laid back and casual, feeling relaxed and having a ton of laughs. Kaitlyn, on the other hand, was getting ready with her girls and even the dog was there, giving her a kiss at one point which was so cute.
It was beautiful seeing Kaitlyn be proactive on her wedding day about her energy. She had a close spiritual friend with her to keep her anxiety down and as soon as she felt her energy shift a little, they would meditate a little and that would bring her back to being present and connected.
They wanted their first ceremony to be a very intimate outdoor ceremony with their closest friends and family there, where they could do a sage cleansing ritual. They did that at Cherry Beach in Toronto and it was super close-knit and very emotional. On top of that, it was great that they were able to have that little bit of outdoor vibe going on despite it being an urban wedding in Toronto.
Then they went over to Enoch Turner Schoolhouse for the second ceremony and the reception with all the other guests. I love that they did it their way - they wanted to have two ceremonies for two reasons and that's exactly what they did. And it was truly magical. It looked like a forest goddess-inspired wedding, just like Kaitlyn wanted.
When they first saw the reception room, which was designed by Love By Lynzie, they were in shock by how beautiful it looked. And to this day I love seeing those pure emotions radiating through the photos. It was beautiful to witness, everyone connecting so deeply that night and you can just see how much love there was in the air the whole time.
I always love to see my couples embracing who they are in the most fun ways, and Kaitlyn and John did it when they literally smashed the cake in each other's faces, and I loved that John didn't hold back and got Kaitlyn too, despite the fact she had her hair and makeup done. It was all about enjoying that moment. The same with the first dance which was choreographed and it was incredible. After that, they went ahead and danced and partied all night.
