Improve Your Wedding Client's Experience in Just 10 Minutes

I have a very quick and simple tip for all you photographers out there. And while it's super easy and effortless to implement into your wedding workflow, it's something that will make a huge difference for you and your clients.

Some of you may already be doing this, but I was surprised to see that many photographers sharing their galleries with me didn't actually do this.

So the tip is:

Create sections of the day in your clients' online gallery so that they can find the photos they are looking for. When they want to print or download specific photos, this will let them do it quickly + easily.

What I mean is - create sections on the top of the gallery with titles like:

  • Jordan Getting Ready

  • Lauren Getting Ready

  • Ceremony

  • Family Photos

  • Photos with the Wedding Party

  • Cocktail Hour

  • Reception

It seems really simple, right?

Nevertheless, many photographers aren't doing this.

Client's Experience

Imagine being the client! Every time you wanted to look at your reception photos, you would go to the wedding gallery and would have to scroll ALL the way down through hundreds and hundreds of photos just to find the ones you want.

And fingers crossed you don't exit from the gallery by accident on your phone and have to do that all over again to download the next image.

It's so much easier for the client to be able to click a tab labelled “Reception” that takes them directly to that part of the day.

But guess what?

This goes beyond helping just the bride and the groom. By doing this, you improve the whole client experience for EVERYONE. Yes, everyone! I don't see just the bride and the groom as my clients. I see all their friends and family as my clients too because I'm documenting the memories for all of them. This way, everyone can easily find the photos they are interested in and save or print as many memories as they want.

Just imagine, how frustrating it would be for a friend or a family member to have to go through hundreds of photos just to get to the family photos or that one particular photo from the cocktail hour? That's not a great client experience.

Instead, you have the power to make this whole process not only easy but also enjoyable for them!

If your clients have a great experience with your wedding gallery, they are more likely to recommend you to other people. Essentially, it leads to more referrals.

Think of it this way - in whatever way someone is interacting with your brand (everything from your website and communication through email to your energy while photographing the wedding and going through the online gallery of wedding photos), that is a reflection of your business and the experience you provide them with. No matter how big or small, that's how your client will judge whether or not they will reach out to you in the future or refer you.

So take the 10 minutes that it takes to sort the images for your clients and it'll be so worth it! Because every single part of the client's experience matters.

Love you guys and thank you so much for reading!

with love + gratitude,
