Hannah + Nick’s family farm picnic wedding was SO representative of them and their family history! And yes you heard that right! They had a picnic ceremony!

Their day took place on their family farm in Ontario which has so much variety in it’s landscape. It has rolling hills, a stream, forests, and wide open spaces. At the top of one of the hills, that’s where they set up to get married accompanied by Nick’s band who played for the ceremony and cocktail hour! They had special details set up such as wedding dresses from their ancestors lining the path the guests took up the hill through the forest to get to the ceremony (this was STUNNING! see photos below!), the ceremony arch that Hannah’s dear brother made, and blankets on the grass so everyone could gather and sit on them for the ceremony. During the ceremony, their friends and family were welcome to have a drink in their hand and a snack to eat as well, which I thought was so thoughtful and unique - hence a picnic wedding! And especially refreshing with the warm sun beating down!

Once the ceremony was over, they did things a little differently. They went straight into their first dance and right after that, speeches from loved ones and then cocktail hour! I love that they decided to change up the flow of a “normal” wedding day to do it their way instead!

As the sun started to set and the guests started to walk down the hill to where the tented reception was set up, Hannah + Nick got to reconnect with one another alone during some sunset portraits together along to some music that was very meaningful to them. It was something out of a fairy tale! And then they were like “oh! we need to feed our dog!”. So we wrapped up portrait time and I told them to go for it and documented those moments too!

Their reception was lit with the most cozy candlelight and the celebrations continued with sweet words and hilarious roasts from their friends + family along with dancing under the moonlight! What a special day to remember full of so many heartfelt and hilarious moments <3
