The Great Hall Toronto Wedding / Hilary + Alex
Hilary + Alex’s goofy and emotional The Great Hall Toronto wedding proved yet again how important it is to embrace your uniqueness, let go, and have as much fun as you can. I started the day by telling the guys to have fun, be themselves and do whatever they want. After all, I knew they’d love looking back at these memories much more than having perfect photos of them getting dressed. And oh my gosh, did the guys take me up on it. Playing the guitar and wearing a sombrero was just the beginning. Why not go outside and walk the streets of Toronto with beers? Or stop by a laundromat? One of the guys even jumped into one of the driers, and I absolutely loved that it all happened so naturally.
The girls had so much fun getting ready together. Everyone was so relaxed.. This was a great time to go over the speeches. One of Hilary's friends was listening to Hilary's speech as she made sure everything was the way she wanted, and it was such a connecting moment of pure laughter, some tears, and overall tender emotions.
I love working with people who are connected and present, even if something isn't always picture-perfect. That feels extra special. Like when Hilary arrived for the first look and nearly tripped getting out of the car, and you can see the driver literally having an OMG moment, ready to catch her. Hilary just laughed it off and kept having the best time. When Hilary and Alex saw each other, you could tell how in love they are - happy and goofy, and so grateful to be in each other’s arms.
The ceremony took place in the gorgeous Toronto Great Hall. I loved the pop of color and the romantic string lights. And even though they had an indoor ceremony and reception, the wedding decor really made it feel like a beautiful tropical destination wedding with lush florals and greenery everywhere. Hilary even had some palm and monstera leaves in her wedding bouquet and I thought it was so unique.
Seeing how goofy they were before the ceremony, I knew the wedding would be epic. And it was. Hilary made a truly epic entrance, throwing her hands in the air before walking down the aisle with her parents by her side.
There were so many funny speeches and crazy dance moves during the reception. At one point Hilary and her dad started line dancing, cowboy hat and all. They even had some super funny props for dancing, including Toronto Raptors’ Kyle Lowry’s cutout. I love how much they embraced their wedding day, feeling free-spirited and having so much fun and celebrating without taking themselves too seriously.
Hilary + Alex's reaction after seeing their photos:
"HI SARA!!! I literally asked Alex the other day "Did we respond to Sara from our photos!?". We got them on the second last day of our honeymoon and it was an absolute dream to watch the slideshows. They are stunning and I cried my eyes out watching the slideshow. It was the best way to end our trip and we loved the photos (so does our family!!). We also absolutely loved working with you too!"
