Sara and Matt had their wedding planned, and because of COVID-19, they had to reschedule their wedding day. But as they were thinking about their wedding plans, they decided, ”You know what, let's just get married anyway, let's just have an intimate micro wedding. And then let's have our rescheduled wedding next year anyway, but it's going to be more of a party and celebration with all the people that couldn't be there.”

So I drove up north to the Algonquin Highlands in Ontario to document them exchanging their vows at their family cottage with their closest family + friends. It's where they spend so much of their time together, so many weekends. So it's a very meaningful location to them. I love that Sara and Matt did it their way. They got ready together. So there was no first look or anything. They actually helped each other get dressed!

And then when it was time for the ceremony, Matt was there waiting for her and she walked down with her dad and had a really cute emotional moment right before she walked down. And you can see that in a photo in the photo below. It was a very intimate emotional ceremony.

As soon as they got married, there was a fun champagne toast on the dock overlooking the water, where everybody got to hang out. I snuck them away for some alone time together and to take some portraits of the two of them. I was playing music and they were having the best time dancing to the music as we were taking portraits, which was so much fun!

Then they went on to celebrate even more with another champagne toast on the dock. For dinner they had a dreamy outdoor, intimate setup under string lights in the backyard of their family cottage. They also share their first dance there which was pure magic! And on top of that they had fireworks to end off the night. So it was such a beautiful intimate affair. Full of love, joy, emotion, playfulness, all of that. I'm so happy that they ended up having a micro wedding, and I cannot wait to document their second wedding celebration!
